Accountancy professor wins $10k Glen McLaughlin Prize

An assistant professor of accountancy in the Farmer School of Business has won the prestigious Glen McLaughlin Prize in research of accounting and ethics.
Dr. Michelle Frank's paper, "Why auditors are unable to see their own behavior as others do: Understanding a potential blind spot," was chosen from four finalists to win the $10,000 prize.
The finalist papers were presented last week at the University of Oklahoma.
"Each year numerous highly accomplished accounting scholars submit their research in pursuit of the McLaughlin prize. The fact Professor Frank's paper not only was selected as one of four finalists, but eventually won is a testament to her dedication and talent as a scholar," acting chair of accountancy Andrew Reffett remarked. "The Accountancy Department congratulates Professor Frank and is very proud of her impressive accomplishment."
The prize, from the Steed School of Accounting at OU, is given for the best unpublished papers "examining the implications of ethics in any area of accounting."
